Singles and Partners
as Foster Parents
We are often
asked if a single person can become
a foster parent. The answer
is yes. In fact, some of our single
parents have cared for as many as
34 children over a period of 14
years. How do they do it? Just as
with single
birth parents, it’s a question
of having the time, desire, and resources.
If you are adult who is at least
21 years old and is willing and able
to help, we invite you to consider
fostering. To see the requirements

site.
What About Gays and Lesbians?
We welcome gay
and lesbian partners or single
parents. Sexual orientation
is not what determines the success
of fostering; it’s the care,
love, and devotion to helping children
in need.

“
My
partner and I are proud to be foster
parents. I work
at an office
all day and she works part time.
But our foster kids are our first
priority. We adore Alexis
and are giving her the help and love
she needs until her family is ready
to take her back.”
